HOVLAND & RASMUS, PLLC REPRESENTS FARMERS IN LAWSUITS AGAINST SYNGENTA, AG
Hovland & Rasmus is part of a team of lawyers that is suing Syngenta, AG in courts across the Midwest on behalf of hundreds of farmers. Our team is led by Mikal Watts of the Watts Guerra firm, based in San Antonio, Texas.
Syngenta, a Swiss company with its U.S. headquarters in Minneapolis, sells seed corn. The lawsuits allege that Syngenta knowingly released a corn variety called Agrisure Viptera before its MIR 162 traits against pests such as corn borer and rootworm were approved in China. The National Grain and Feed Association estimated the U.S. corn industry suffered a $2.9 billion loss because of the market rejections caused by the premature release of MIR 162. Hovland & Rasmus attorney James Hovland was featured in a newspaper article that outlined the reasons for the lawsuit against Syngenta.
